Tax Justice

Home / Our Programs / Tax Justice

With an abundance of natural resources across Africa, tax laws and regulations inherited under the neo-liberal structure make it difficult to tax the extractives industry because of the incentives, being dominated by foreign players and the secrecy that surround the industry operations that make it difficult to effectively ensure an efficient and streamlined tax regime.

We advocate for tax policy reforms to ensure that revenue mobilization, allocation and utilization is inclusive, equitable and fair and the implementation of favorable agriculture policies and budgets that meet the needs of small holder farmers.

We help build capacity of citizens and stakeholders to demand for fair and inclusive fiscal policies, laws and practices in the emerging extractives industry.
